The Abandoned Space Shuttle Replica of Prince Edward Island

The Abandoned Space Shuttle Replica of Prince Edward Island From concept art featuring crashed starfighters to real defunct spacecraft left to rot in near-derelict hangars, we’ve seen a plethora of abandoned space technology on Urban Ghosts. But one of the most unusual oddities we’ve seen is this abandoned Space Shuttle mockup, which was photographed in the relatively incongruous setting of a small theme part on Prince Edward Island, Canada. The craft, a full-scale replica of the ill-fated Space Shuttle Columbia, looks weather-worn thanks to the harsh winter conditions blowing in off the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Nevertheless, it makes for an interesting attraction along Cavendish Road, near Bayview, and certainly turns drivers’ heads as they pass by.
