Abandoned Horse-Drawn Wagon at Beamish Museum

This abandoned horse-drawn wagon is a noticeable departure from the vintage trams that usually rattle along the cobbled streets of Beamish, County Durham. The famous living museum near the former mining town of Stanley generally focuses more on the industrialised technology that had come about by the early 20th century, though old coaches such as this one were still a common sight. The photograph below shows a preserved vintage tram on Beamish’s 1.5 mile route, the longest preserved tramway in the UK.
